Looking for a fun, easy, and inexpensive craft to do with the kids. Make your very own melted beads suncatcher with the easy tutorial.
We made this Rainbow Beads suncatcher last summer and loved it SO MUCH, so we wanted to try a new one with some flower patterns. They almost look like little stained glass works of art. They’re super fun to make and look stunning when shining in the sun.

Want to make some of your own? You just need three simple things and an oven.
Supplies You will need:
- Translucent Plastic pony Beads
- Metal Pizza pan/ Muffin Tin/Cake Pan (we bought ours from dollar tree)
- Oven or outdoor Grill
- Glass beads or Drill(optional) for making holes in your suncatcher.
Place the pony beads into the pizza pan(if you want to make bigger), forming a single layer of beads. Create your own designs and color combinations. We are making Flower design today. Try avoiding space between the beads.
We added few glass beads at the top edge of our Suncatcher, as glass beads won’t melt.
Now, preheat the oven to 350 Degrees.
Place the pan onto the oven or hot grill. Heat for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until the plastic craft beads have completely melted. Keep checking the beads in between.
Once it looks all melted, let it cool down.
Remove the pan from the oven, and set aside to cool completely.
Once cooled, the suncatchers easily pop out of the pan.
String a piece of ribbon through each hole and tie the ends in a knot. Or if you have a drill available, create a small hole on one edge of each suncatcher.
And here are the finished Art in our garden! We LOVE these! They are so bright and fun. It can be used as a Suncatcher or a garden plate for outdoor decor.
They’re great to make and give to loved ones as a gift. This is a very Fun & Easy craft to make with the kids! Your kids will love making these and so will you.
