- Mason jars
- Painter tape
- red chalk paint and paintbrush
- Sealant, sandpaper
- twine, jingle bells for decoration
STEPS TO MAKE :
Start with two coats of primer. Let dry between each coat.
Using painter tape, make stripes on to the jar at a slight angle. You may have to adjust the tape as you go along.
Make sure you press down the tape firmly along the edges so you don’t get bleeding underneath
Now, paint the jar using red chalk paint. (Acrylic paint will work well too.) Allow the paint to dry completely.
Peel off the tape slowly, there will be some bleed-through of red paint onto the white, just use a paintbrush and white paint for touch up.
Finish by distressing with sandpaper along with the raised areas of the jar. Totally personal preference. Finish with a clear coat spray sealant.
Use red and white twine and some jingle bells to complete this adorable look.
